This hot spring is noted in Japanese mythology "Manyoushu" which is the first written book in Japan. So, this area has about 2000 years of history. The town was built around 1575 by Takeda. The stone stairs located in the middle of the town were actually built by this time.









The hot spring water is very low temperature and not much contain the healing material. However, there are many hotels and restaurants around this hot spring. So, Ikaho is still very famous travel spots.

Most of hotels has hot spring spa, but there are also public bath which use the hot spring water. So, you can visit this town just for hot spring.

In the fall, you can enjoy great autumn tints in Ikaho. There is beautiful light up for that.

Kusatsu Onsen (草津温泉) is a naturally heated spring which discharges from the ground at a total of 32,000 L/m from more than 100 points across the area. It is one of Japan's top three onsen and is world famous for it's therapeutic properties. The water is high in sulphate, aluminium, sulfur and chloride which gives it a unique green glow. Heated by underground volcanic vents the water reaches 60 ℃. The water is good for the relief of neuralgia, muscle pain, dermatosis, bruising, sprains hypertension and fatigue. The strong sterilising power, which destroys germs and bacteria, is the secret to it's therapeutic properties. The acidity of the spring water is high enough that it can dissolve \1 coins (aluminium) in just under a week.

It is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo visited here regularly. Tokugawa Yoshimune the 8th Shogun used to have barrels of Kusatsu water delivered to Edo castle all the way in Edo.

A survey by the Nihon Onsen Association states that 6 million people visit Kusatsu each year. Of the 330 onsen the Nihon Onsen Association listed in their survey, Kusatsu tops the list as the most popular in all of Japan.










Yubatake
... is located in the center of Kusatsuonsen and it is where Onsen water springs. There are Hand Onsen and Foot Onsen you can easily enjoy.

Yumomi
... is traditional way of cooling Onsen water down without adding extra water so that they can keep the healing quality of Onsen water. There is demonstration at Netsunoyu, which show you traditional Yumomi with traditional songs. If you are lucky, you can try this Yumomi.

The history of Hakone Onsen began with Hideyoshi's attack of Odawara Castle. He used Hakone Onsen for healing his soldiers. Also, Tokugawa Iemitsu used this onsen for you bath room.










Hakone Yumoto is very famous for its Ajisai, Hydrangea. In the end of June, many people visit Hakone Yumoto to enjoy Ajisai. There are many hiking courses which you can enjoy Ajisai, and Hakone Tozan Line is popular as the Ajisai Train.

Yugawara (湯河原温泉) is Onsen Town located at west end of Kanagawa Prefecture. It has beach, mountains and lots of Onsen hotels. At Manyo Park which is the most famous travel spot in Yugawara, has Doppo no Yu. Doppo no Yu is Public Foot Onsen which has 9 different kinds of Onsen you can enjoy. Fresh Sushi and Sashimi are good because Yugawara has fish port.

Manyo Park is chosen as one of 100 best historic parks.

There are food massages on each Onsen. It works better when you walk on Onsen.
This is the list of healing qualities.
1. Hiko Spring for skin and mouth.
2. Heisei Spring for Stress and nerve system.
3. Hikotsu Spring for organ, bones and joints.
4. Jinbi Spring for ear and kidney.
5. Kanmoku Spring for Liver and eyes.
6. Yorokobi Spring for laughing.
7. Myakui Spring for high blood presser and stomach.
8. Chobi Spring for Organ and nose
9. Shiko Spring for your mind

There are five waterfalls in Yugawara. Fudo falls is most popular waterfalls.

Sports
At the mountain side, there are many hiking courses which people enjoy one day hike.

Yugawara has golf courses, tennis courts, and you can enjoy marine sports.
